Chamonix is renowned for being the extreme sports capital of the Alps - whether you're choosing from one of it's many ski areas, exploring the amazing back country, or taking on the infamous Vallee Blanche you're bound to find something to challenge you.   Even if riding the snow isn't your thing, climbers, mountaineers, and paragliders alike descend on Cham all year round... and no one leaves disappointed.

If there's one thing that can be said about Chamonix, it's that it is far from your average ski resort.   It offers a large and diverse list of activities, and with the breath-taking views of Mont Blanc and her sister mountains, no one could be disappointed.   The Chamonix valley consists of the main town itself, together with several little villages, each with their own character and quirks to be explored.  

One of the things that stand out about Chamonix (apart from the obvious!) is the atmosphere.   You'll be hard pushed to find another resort that sums up the Skiing/Boarding philosophy like this place... Put it this way - you'll see many more people clad in Dakine than D&G...
