Ski Chalets & Apartments in Chamonix, Catered & Self Catered Accommodation

Chalet Les Pelerins was fully renovated during the Summer / Autumn 2007 and the layout was changed to provide “Stylish, Comfortable & Flexible” accommodation. It is a large building – in chalet mode we have 200 sqm for 5 bedrooms, in self-cater mode we have 100 sqm per apartment. We very deliberately wanted to create an airy feel so avoided cramming in more bedrooms.

The middle floor has a large dining room and lounge area with French doors leading to a large (40 sqm) terrace. There are clear views of Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi. The dining table can seat 14, whilst the lounge area around the open fire can seat 6 to 8. In self-cater mode there is a sofa bed available in the lounge area.

There is a large, semi-commercial kitchen, with 6 burner gas cooker, large oven, double sink, American style fridge / freezer, dishwasher and plenty of pots and equipment to go. The double bedroom has a en-suite shower & sink plus plenty of wardrobe and chest of drawer space, and a great view over the landscaped gardens. The twin bedroom has 2 beds (which can be pushed together to form a double), wardrobe, chest of drawers plus an amazing view out onto the Brevant & Flegere mountains. There is a bathroom with shower, WC and basin plus an additional WC and wash hand basin.

In self cater mode the apartment can be shut off from the basement and has a separate entrance. In chalet mode then you can enter from the basement ski room or the front door and also have easy access to the upper floor. All guests eat together in the middle floor whilst there is a second lounge upstairs.

The centre piece of the upper floor is definitely the large open plan lounge, dining, kitchen area. With massive comfortable sofas to seat 10, high ceilings, views through the Velux windows of Mont Blanc & Aguille du Midi this is definitely a room to relax in. Two sets of French Doors lead onto the balcony with amazing views over the gardens and out to the mountains. The dining room area, despite being highly stylish is also very practical. There is a full size 4 burner halogen hob, combination oven / microwave, half size dishwasher, fridge freezer, sink and expansive work surface. There is a master bedroom, and a twin/ double room that has two single beds (which can be pushed together to form a double), small wardrobe and cupboard space. A combination of Dormer and Velux windows make the room airy and make the most of the views out towards Brevant & Flegere. The twin room has two single beds, with one tucked into an alcove, a large wardrobe and lots of open shelf space. There is a large bathroom, bath with shower, WC and basin as well as a separate WC & sink.

The Basement Floor provides covered access into a ski storage area, has the boiler room, office and a staff apartment.

Location

Chalet Les Pelerins is a genuine and pleasant 15 minute walk from Place Balmat (the very centre of Chamonix). The chalet is set back from Rte des Pelerins, and is definitely in a quiet, tranquil part of the town.

Within 800 metres you have the “Chamonix Sud” bus stop, from where the resort buses serve all the ski areas. The nearest bar (800 metres) is Le Jekyll - always a good après ski venue. The nearest restaurant is the excellent l'Impossible, situated next door to the Jekyll.

The main bakery of Chamonix “Fournil Chamoniard” is just 3 mins walk away. It opens from 0600 in the morning to get your baguettes & croissants – be warned though the cake selection is highly addictive!
